Liv's Bags Photo Shoot

New Etsy shop make over underway! Website soon to follow!

Here are a few sneak peek photos from our photo shoot last Monday!

I made yummy hydrangea cupcakes for after the photo shoot, Here's the recipe:

Vanilla Cupcakes with Hydrangea Icing
Cake:
2/3 of a cup of butter, softened
3/4 of a cup sugar or evaporated cane juice
1 1/2 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of vanilla
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 12 cup muffin pan with cupcake liners. In a stand mixer (or by hand with an electric mixer, I used a stand mixer though) mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs, one at a time, blending well after each one. Add vanilla, flour, and baking powder. Spoon the batter into the cupcake lined muffin tin, dividing evenly. Bake until tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 18 to 20 minutes. Cool cupcakes on cake racks. Original recipe found on allrecipes.com and submitted as Vanilla Cupcake by Hanatarou (the recipe above is my tweaked version of the original recipe.)
Icing:
1 8oz block of Neufchatel cheese (you can use regular cream cheese instead if you want)
A dash of vanilla (about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp)
Powdered sugar

In a stand mixer (or by hand, I haven't tried it by hand before though) mix Neufchatel cheese (cream cheese) and vanilla. Add powdered sugar until you get desired consistency. This icing recipe is by my Mom

Once cupcakes are cooled split icing into smaller bowls and mix in food coloring. I made a purple color and a blue and left some in it's natural color. Add one color of icing to piping bag using a flower tip (or make your own piping bag from a zip lock freezer bag by cutting off a tiny bit of one corner, just barely big enough to fit the flower tip.) Pipe out little dots with the flower tip here and there on each cupcake. Continue with each color until you have your desired hydrangea look. You can add mint leaves as a garnish right before serving if you would like. Enjoy!

Here's a behind the scenes look at our photo shoot last Monday in between product shots.
We had lots of fun with it! Have a wonderful week!
